Winamp network packets
Hello folks,
I was playing with a packet sniffer today and noticed that on a regular basis, Winamp is calling home. This is without even having it or the agent running and with the "submit anon info" switched off". I don't think Winamp has even been started today. Packets look like this: <S><a>0x846de98</a></S> <H><a>0x846de98</a></H><R> <a>36539</a> <b>mp3: 14. Track 1</b> </R> and <H><a>0x846de98</a></H><R> <a>12746</a> <b>mp3: 274. One Dollar Short - Here I Am</b> </R> <R> <a>12746</a> <b>mp3: 115. Green Day - Prosthetic Head</b> </R> These are not tracks on my computer. It looks like XML for some sort of listing, but it is incessant and is just chewing up bandwidth. Any idea what is going on here? |
