Stream Transcoder?
Hey! I have seen the OddSock.org transcoder. It looks OK, but I don't like the command line interface or the large amount of stuff I have to enter for it, etc. Is there a way to have more of the built in mirror-type server? Then I can just enter the IP/address and port of the existing server, enter the title, and the rest of the data is automatic?
If not, is there a GUI or at least non-"Command Prompt" based version of a transcoder? Keep in mind that being compatible with Windows XP Home is a BIG BIG BIG plus! Just post ANY transcoder you know about here, PLEASE! P.S. RMI Internet Radio still needs DJs, but mirrors are not as big of a problem any more! |

Don't bother with Oddsock's transcoder. I tried going from 64kbps 22050khz Stereo to 24kbps 22050khz mono and it scrambles the audio.
In my mind this is one of the most important bitrates to transcode to and it doesn't work! Otherwise it'll be fine. Command-line isn't that bad, the only hard part is editing the config file. Wanna know why it's commandline? I used the old version that used to have a GUI and it was a mess! Trust me you don't want a GUI! |

it probably scrambled due to the stereo to mono translation.

That's what I thought too, but I found out later that it could do stereo to mono at 11025khz without a problem.
