xmms can't connect to shoutcast, get timeout

Using Mandrake 9.2 with 1.7.9 xmms, at shoutcast I can click on *some* streams and they play fine with xmms. However others like radioparadise, and smoothjazz, and many others, xmms will just sit there "connecting to:64.236.34.196:80" and timeout in like 60 seconds. Then I get a dialouge box "Couldn't connect to host; 64.236.34.196:80"
So some streams I can play others I cannot. I stress this point. I used to be able to play all streams always with same setup.
I have vi'd the .pls files from each and they all look more or less the same. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Guess nobody else has a clue either! What is the "Tech Support" part of this bbs?

Just curious, still have same issue.

Tech support is staffed by volunteers.

Please be patient and courteous, or go away.

http://64.236.34.196:80 is reporting:
Quote:
ICY 404 Resource Not Found
icy-notice1:SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server/posix v1.8.1
icy-notice2:The resource requested was not found
That means there is no stream to listen to at that address.

Fix:
Try a different stream.

Seems like XMMS may have troubles connecting to UltraVox streams?

UltraVox streams have the form: http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/2001

DNAS streams have the form: http://205.188.245.131:8048

However, if one UltraVox stream works instantly and the other doesn't... Hmmm... I don't have the environment to duplicate.

I don't necessarily apologize for my previous comment, but sorry to come across heavy-handed.

No sweat, we are all good here.

Yea it's weird, just tonight I went to radioparadise.com and hit the 128k mp3 link and it worked fine....
A weird problem. When I can quantify it better I might repost it more to the point... if I can.

Gracias!
