Another Router Problem
Sorry to be a bug guys, but im having problems getting shoutcast running again since installing a router (belkin 4 port dsl gateway router)
perviously i had shoutcast running via 'bluefear.no-ip.com' since installing the router i have got everything else working but shoutcast. ive been searching the forums all day but not managed to find an answer. I can broadcast on 127.0.0.1 and localhost fine no probs... when i load dnas i get Quote:
a: bluefear.no-ip.com p:8000 pass: (as per sc_serve.ini) e: 1 (i can see the volume bars working on main, so its not the files) the status stays on 'connecting' and times out, counts down and goes to 'connecting' again, and continues. im my router config (belkin) under Virtual Server' i have: priIP: 192.168.2.2 priPORT: 8000 T: TCP port: 8000 priIP: 192.168.2.2 priPORT: 8001 T: TCP port: 8001 ive come to the end of my wit now... im running win xp, winamp5.02, latest source and dnas plugs please help... |

If the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are on the same machine, then use "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" or "the lan ip of the DNAS if you're on a lan" (without the quotes) as the Address in the DSP.
If the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo are on different machines but on the same lan, then use the lan ip of the DNAS as the Address in the DSP. Else, use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS as the Address in the DSP. Finally, if you've changed the DNAS variables SrcIP and/or DestIP please set them back to "ANY" (without the quotes) unless you have more than 1 real, world-visible ip address for the DNAS machine or you know exactly wht you are doing. |

i checked dnas cfg file from changes to SrcIP and DestIP, restarted the server, it still doesnt error in dnas. dsp now does broadcast the stream and said stream is accessible from '127.0.0.1:8000', '192.168.2.2:8000' and 'localhost:8000' but not from '82.41.38.43:8000' (my 'real' ip) or 'http://bluefear.no-ip.com'. ive updated the DUC (for no-ip) so that doesnt appear to be the fault. any more suggestions? |

if your router doesn't support local loopback then machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. |
