Graphics Tablet - Advice for Purchasing
Hello to All,
I know there are quite a few artists and designers here.... and I am looking into buying a Graphics tablet. I do alot of digital artwork now compared to paper and brush... I want to draw by hand into my editors and enhance it with PSP8 or PS7. I understand that having a graphics tablet gives much more control in the fine details that gives your work much more personalization and freedom compared to the limitations of using a mouse. Also, I am left handed but I use my right hand for the mouse....wierd huh? .... this is really causing my right hand to ache after hours of graphics work. Oddly enough... I can't use the mouse with my left hand.... it looks like crap. So having a graphics pen and tablet would be great for my left hand. So, my question is.... what brand or type of graphics tablet would you suggest? I know price is a big factor here so to give you a range.... I am looking for a medium to high end tablet. I have looked at the Intuos 2 Platinum 9x12 and it is $469 US. This would be my upper limit that I would spend. So any other brands or advice would be appreciated. I would be ok in the $150 - $300 US price range and a 6x8 pad would be the smallest I would want. I prefer a USB device. I use a Pentium 4 2.66 processor with 768 ram. ATI 64 mb graphics card. Windows XP. Thanks in advance for your help and any tips.

Aiptek also makes pretty good graphic tablets. I currently use their 8x6 Hyperpen 8000. They also offer a 12x9 Hyperpen 12000.
