The search engines on this site for skins have never, ever worked reliably for me. Since about 2000, I sometimes get no results even when I click on the skin-groupings on the left (it comes back with a no results found message.)

Searching for something in particular simply doesn't work.

A very obvious problem with a news article over in the news section of the site (not the forums): this, "EFF names 10 patents for destruction," is only roughly a page long. Yet, it repeats several times over three pages--unless somehow the problem is on my end? All three pages are near-identical when I view them.

It's fixed now (just looked at it). Maybe it has something to do with

1: all of the posts that thread consists of, or
2: The thickness of the pictures? Perhaps at a certain amount of pixels down, the little square dissapears?

Eh, Whatever it was, it's gone now.

I'm still getting this problem.

Winamp emails

I tried to make an accout at winamp.com so that i could add a comment to a plugin. However when i tried to make the account i got to the activation stage.. where winamp sends me an email and i activate my account by clicking a link in the email.. and the email never came. I waited 3-4 days and tried the 'Forgot your password'.. i put my email in again and it responded with it had sent the email to my account.. but i had no email still and i checked the junk email regularly.
I registered on these forums with the same email with no problems.. am i doing something wrong registering on winamp.com?

P.s I've looked and searched but couldnt find anyone else with the same problem, if it has already been answered on these large forums i apologise.

The "Show: Modern/Classic" dropdown box is missing from the skins page for the following categories:

Most Rated/Top Rated/Top Staff Rated/Most Downloaded

It appears when selecting the genre specific categories below, but that's useless since you only get to see skins from that genre. This means it takes browsing through 17 different categories to just to see the weeks new modern or classic skins, when browsing through just one category should (and used to be) enough to see them all.

OK got another one:

When downloading skins, it no longer gives you a Wal file and installs automatically. It now gives a Zip file that I have to manually rename to Wal and put into my Skins folder, since there's no instructions to do this I assume many newbies will have no idea how to install them.

Works for Me. Check your browser settings.

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

But are you using the latest IE (SP2) or the old one? My settings are default. This is only a problem with current software, ppl who haven't updated won't notice it yet I guess. What browser setting do we need to change?

forums.winamp.com favicon is not displaying in Mozilla Firefox, instead it displays a white box (??) Must be a malformed icon or too large.

I also posted about this problem here before (yeah, wrong forum but here is the link anyway)

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=189076

I was using Firefox 0.9.3 then, now I am using:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041018 Firefox/1.0

window is staying on the bottom.

I have a little problem. this just started and i cant get it back to the setting it was on. When i open my music folder for the first time when i turn on my computer and pick a song, the winamp program pops on top of the my music folder to play the song. then i click on the my music folder to look for another song the winamp program goes underneath the my music folder. but when i pick the next song from the my music folder the winamp program stays underneath the folder and plays the song. it used to pop on top of the my music folder when the next song would be picked. how can i switch it back. without haveing to select "Always on Top"

If you think you have a valid suggestion for something that may be useful for the forums, then PM to any moderator, and they will post it Backstage and can discuss it.

It can get a bit confusing when the word 'Moderator' does not under their username. Ok, that's my first suggestion: All board moderators and administrators should put the words 'Moderator' and 'Administrator' under their username, respectively.

Not sure if this is reproducable for others: the xml image for attachments is unavailable.
Example: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....31#post1527531

http://forums.winamp.com/images/attach/xml.gif
cannot be found on server...

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

Somthing I noticed... At the top right corner on only the forums page is a small seperation to the right of the word "Support."

I am using Mozilla 1.7.3 if it matters.

Is anyone else noticing this...

I dont think that the space next to Support is an error is it? I assume that it is designed to be like that.

Could the reason that space is there be because the log-in for Winamp.com accounts would be confused for the Forum log-in? Or, am I being too logical?

[edit] No, I'm wrong. Completely different issue. But, my next screenshot does prove the issue being discussed. Maybe I should try reading and comprehending before posting?

Maybe its an error from removing the Winamp.com account log-in? [/edit]

The whole folder-color thing hasn't been too reliable for me here on the forums. (The colors that say which threads have new messages.) Often they'll be red when I was the last one to post in them, or will refuse to turn gray no matter what.
