Hello, I was viewing my log today, and I found something very very new to my eyes:
[yp_tch] new backup server **.***.*.**:8000 Now this is obviously an IP address, but i put in *'s for safty reasons. Could anyone tell me why I got this message? Thanx In advance. |

You either have another DNAS server running elsewere relayed off of that server . . . or someone is relaying your stream.

yea, you could take that as a compliment, being someone is "echoing" your stream.

depends on whether it is a good relay or not, sometimes newbs relay a connection on their cable connection not knowing that they can't handle it.

So what can I do with this? and why would someone be doing this in the first place?
Edit: Wow, now something new came up ![]() When my server became full, it gave this message: [dest: **.***.***.***] service full, redirecting to backup **.***.*.**:8000 |

How very odd, there is nothing visable on the IP. but my DNAS just redirects listeners there anyway.

check your XML connection log and look for an entry which specifies itself as SHOUTcast.

Okay, I see it. What now?
Also, in the Shoutcast YP, I now have "Cluster" next to my name. |

persaonlly, i would tune into their server, and maybe get a few friends to fill it up. see how well it holds up. if it does good, leave it. if it craps out, ban 'em.

But their server is down! I try to see their status, by entering http://this.guy's.ip.addy:8000 and nothing comes up. Could it be that my station redirects to a server thats down?
Also, who would give me free bandwith and not say anything? And is there anyway that I can set my EQ to what I want, and set it different to what others hear? THNX |

i tried looking up your station on the shoutcast yp earlier but only server ip found in the playlist was yours. so either the guy wasnt relaying at the time or something fishy is going on. more than likely he wasnt logged on though. next time you get a chance though, post the server address so we can investigate.
