Connecting through a gateway server

ok ... perhaps this has already been discussed before but i couldnt find any information about it...
anyways ...
i have a pc acting as gatway for my other computers in my lan. the gatewayserver is directly connected to the internet. now when i try to connect to a shoutcast server (not on one of my computers) it keeps saying "connecting" .. and nothing happens... i tryed port forwarding but it didnt worked ... so, in order to make it work i could set up a shoutcast server on my gatewayserver which forwards my stream to the actual server via this RelayServer option ... right??
