need help sorting out the shoutcast server thing...

i'm trying to set up a shoutcast server.
i've got the shoutcast server and plug in software. i run a 600kb/s connection and that goes through a router as there are several computers in my house. i wondered whether anyone knew how to set up the ports and connections etc? i did set it up so you could hear it, but it was only on my LAN. any help will be appreciated.
