relaying = constant buffering + random '[yp-tch] new relay'
here's a real strange one.
my Relay (69.10.144.156:8096) was reporting 0/50 listeners. it was busy all day, and i get major night traffic. so i tune in... and my WinAmp client goes into constant buffering mode. it'd get a connection, but then it just keep, uh, spitting. unlistenable. never seen/heard this before. so i go to tail the logfile. sure enough, people are constantly disconnecting after a maximum of 40 seconds. so it's not just me, everyone's going through it. then... i start seeing these constant [yp-tch] backup lines. and the backup IP:PORT combination is from one of my OTHER relays, something that this particular Relay wouldn't know anything about. might your slightly-hobbled YellowPages service be delivering the wrong information (IP:PORT) to the wrong address? and might this make my Relay server freak out? to cause constant buffering issues? |

huh. i tell it not to touch the YP server and...
...suddenly the Relay is stable again. maybe it is some weird data that the YP is serving back to it.
