out_ds and DirectShow Filters?
Hi,
i'm using the DirectSound output v2.2.8 and i'd like to include a DirectSound filter into the output graph. Usually this filter would be included automatically, but it seems as out_ds specifically selects an output device, this does not work. Any hints? I already tried all possible options of out_ds (Hardware acceleration, different output devices). The DirectShow filter in question is MatrixMixer and it works fine with most other media players (probably those which use DirectSound and do not force an output device). Any help would be appreciated. Maybe this should be a plugin-dev or whishlist post? Thanks in advance. |

MatrixMixer is a DirectShow Audio Filter, not a DirectSound Filter.
Basically, this means that it is used for any sound files (or for any video files with audio that utilizes the filter) which are handled by the player's DirectShow Decoder... eg. in: Winamp > Prefs > Plugins > Input > DirectShow Decoder (in_dshow.dll) > config: There's a list of extensions in here. If any of these formats are played, as long as your system is configured to use MatrixMaster for these formats, then Winamp's DirectShow Decoder will utilize it to process the audio. eg. you can install the AC3 DirectShow Filter and add AC3 to Winamp's DirectShow Decoder config extension list... |
