Winamp shuts down for no reason

I need help,

Everything was jinkys with my winamp until a little whie ago. I can't keep my winamp maximized on my desktop, or else the whole program will just shut down within a few minutes. i then have to open it up from my desktop again.

i checked out the properties, and tried the help options on my computer, but nothing is helping me out. Some info about my particular winamp is 5.0rc8 11/19/03. my OS is windows xp, december 2003 model. my computer has 256 MB of memory with an 80 GB hard drive of which i have used 74.4 GB. right now, i have no movie files, but i have 67 albums- 645 tracks of music on winamp. all of my music imported from my c: drive, not directly from disk.

Hope someone out there can help me. Thanks, kiddies.

Try upgrading to 5.02 first. 5.0rc8 is old.

Do you have any third party plug-ins installed?
Perhaps try a clean install..?
