System Service option
When I have to switch back and forth frequently between user accounts, it becomes very annoying to have to start/stop Winamp/music playback and "find my place" everytime I log in/out of user accounts.

For those who do not understand:
Since winamp does not offer multi-user support, I came up with a creative solution that works -very- well. (If anyone wants to know my solution, ask.) Because of this, each user has their own settings, basically all settings, etc.. If I'm playing music on one profile, when I log out and into another profile, I've got to fire up Winamp again, find the tunes I was playing under the last profile, etc.. If I didn't impliment the user profile scheme, I would still have to start/stop Winamp everytime I logged on/off accounts! What if I'm in the middle of a real big album file. If I'm switching back and forth profiles every five minutes or so in some cases, I don't even bother with Winamp. If a small component (or Anything!) could keep playing my tunes while I switch profiles, this would be a BIG bonus. It occures to me that this desired "feature" might do strange things with the multi-profile solution...? Also, I've "scoured" the Net and -not- found one mp3 player that will run in this mode. Just makes you wonder...:~) |
