Mp3 Details Panel
I'm new here, so just in case this question has been answered thousands of time, I apologize in advance.
Having installed Winamp, I now have much less information in the "Details" panel in the lower left of an open directory (below "Other Places"). It used to display song title, artist, album, and year. Now it shows nothing but the file name. I assume this has something to do with the registry, of which I know nothing. Can anyone please advise me what registry modification is necessary to return my mp3's to the previous "Details" configuration?? Thank you. Kenny Kandyman1028@aol.com |

I don't think this has got anything to do with Winamp, or with Winamp being the default mp3 player.
In WinXP, Explorer still shows those details for me. Right click the containing folder, go to Properties, then Customize tab. Make sure "Music (best for audio files and playlists)" is selected in the drop-down menu. If the problem persists, then make sure the id3 tags for your mp3's are still in tact. Windows will display filename only if the mp3 contains no id3 tags. |
