Streaming from remote host

I currently have a shared hosting account and I wanted to try hosting shoutcast and stream music from my webhost. Does anyone know how I would do that?

You must have shell access and permission from the host.

Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'telnet ssh'.

Look for a post by clubexplosion titled:
Install shoutcast on host

Note: Other search criteria may yield more results.

I try and use SSH, but I don't really know how to use it. Could you explain how to actually use SSH??? I saw the other thread and it doesn't actually explain it. (i'm using putty btw) I can log in to SSH, but I don't know the commands to upload the file, install it, etc

Ask Google about SSH.
