[Windows 2000/xp/pro full winamp control

Here's how to control Winamp with out need for a Media Keyboard

To do this you need to download and install this program
(This program lets you remap your keyboard keys)


Attached is a jpg file that shows basic key configuration
(Note that 0x0 = Pause/break key in winamp settings)

With these settings you will be able to:

start winamp(*) (Only If it is set as default media player)
stop winamp
next song
privious song
play
pause
toggle repeat on/off
toggle shuffle on/off
toggle vis on/off
open file
volume (master)(*)
mute (master)(*)

(*)These functions are always available in windows See website

i don't understand this.

arn't most of these functions already in winamp.

to be exact, they are part of winamp 5.0 or higher and are called "global hotkeys"


the only button i don't think it has is the "start winamp" option.

hm but if this is somthing else sorry.

yes true but this adds the start winamp feature for keyboards that don't have media functions and adds control of system volume and mute the rest is set in "global hot keys" in winamp and theres no need to have "winamp agent" to run mainly because it uses no resources that are not running in windows anyways because the KeyTweak program only runs when setting the keys

yes Its not a winamp plugin and that is good cause winamp has to be running for that it adds that you can set unused keys on a non media keyboard to work for those functions.
of coarse you can use any keys you want but I thought I'd show some examples to get people started on the right track

I hope this works. All of the "so called" controls have not worked with my keyboard yet. They always control WMP instead of Winamp.
