My guess is that you are trying to send out an invalid file type (ie: Maybe AAC or WMA?). I personally have not tested these, but maybe that's the case. You obviously can't send out a word document on shoutcast though...

there are a couple video's in the list but it shouldnt change anything, also what should be in the content folder?

i have gone to

http://www.radiotoolbox.com/online_tools/cantheygetin.php

and it says that

my ip:8000 is Closed

Reason Given: Connection refused
More about this error: This essentially means that the port is open to the internet but has no services associated with it. There is no firewall protection on this port

although when i move my mouse over the server it says [0/32] users, and i am sendging bytes to the server

Is there anything specific that sould be in the content folder?

Norton can continue running, as I leave it on 24/7 and have no problem. Have you tried broadcasting since you disabled ZoneAlarm? And if you still are given "connection refused", do you have the Windows XP Firewall activated (if you are running xp, of course)?

If you are running XP firewall, please see:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....ht=XP+firewall

yeah, i'm back.

Don't disable the firewall, just open ports 8000 and 8001.

I hear your (techno?) music playing.

This is the proper link
http://yourIP:8000/listen.pls

There shouldn't be a content folder.

Also, in the Winamp DSP, might want to go and change your server name and everything, should be in output, click yEllow pages

yeah, i'm back.

They will need Winamp.
DNAS is the server program.

However, if someone would like to listen with RealPlayer/RealOne or Windows Media Player, then you will need to direct them to these files...

For the .asx (WMP).. put the following in a notepad document and then save it as <whatever>.asx

code:

<asx version="3.0">
<title>TITLE</title>
<entry>
<title>TITLE</title>
<author>AUTHOR</author>
<ref href="http://yourIP:yourPORT/"/>
</entry>
</asx>

Of course, change things to fit your needs.
Note: This only works in WMP 7.1 and up
Note the trialing slash after "yourPORT"

For the .ram file to open a RealPlayer stream, enter the following into a notepad document:

code:
http://yourIP:yourPORT.rm

Then save that as <whatever>.ram

Simply upload those to your website and link them and they will open in the appropriate player.

yeah, i'm back.

Thanks. ; )

As for the .asx one, your host most likely does not have the correct Mimetypes to support it.

Try emailing your host, and asking them to set these mim-types:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...NoWebContent=1

After they do that, the file should work.

yeah, i'm back.

Yes, that should work also, unless they don't have anything else to listen to it with. Like if all they have is windows media player.

yeah, i'm back.
