Asking for possible implementation for streaming media

I understand that alot of sites are having trouble with supporting enough slots to satisfy viewers.

One of the biggest complaints that i know of is the fact that people use winamp to connect, it gets in their playlist, and repeated: hence its retried if the server is full. the sites get pinged to all hell and effectively this allmost creates a DoS attack on them. So many users are trying to connect 3 times a second, just to get a slot into the stream. The internet tv list isnt updated unless you refresh so you cant tell when someone drops, it is not an ideal situatoin.

Its just an idea (that i dindt see on the first page) that perhaps in a later release, (and make it compulsary to update to watch nsv streams) that a system of queing is implemented.

That is perhaps you can que yourself in a couple of strems and watch the show while NOT pinging the server to death.

This would (in my opinion) improve the streaming quality alot, as constantly it seems the server lags, in high peak usage, even though their sever allways runs at max capacity.

Its just an idea but i know many people are getting fed up with not being able to provide well enough to keep the audience happy, yet its the audience that cant see that causes the problem in alot of cases.

Im only in first year of IT so i dont understand what it would take to implement this solution, but i thought i may suggest it in case it hadnt, i just know so many people are trying hard to provide a free service and are having a hard time doing it, and if they just give up (they have all the right in the world to) then thats the end of it.
