For those of you having trouble with Routers or Dynamic IPs (COME HERE)

I recently dicovered how to get by this, and since I couldn't quite grasp most of the other help topics, I thought I'd post this.

When you have a router you will most likely have a dynamic IP, this means that everytime you restart the computer, your IP will change. You can test it by going to http://www.whatismyip.com , writing down your results, restarting your computer, and checking again.

Now, if you do have a dynamic IP, go to http://www.no-ip.com and sign up for a free account.

Once you are set up, go to "Add" under "Hosts/Redirects".

Choose any hostname you like, just be sure to remember it.

Under "Host Type" choose DNS Host(A)

Go down to address and type in what you got from http://www.whatismyip.com (you don't need http://)

You can skip all of the stuff under that and press the button that says "Create Host"

----

Now, turn on the SHOUTcast Server (found here. ) and turn on WinAmp.

If you havn't already, press CTRL-P or go to Options>Preferences and go down to DSP/Effect, click "NullSoft SHOUTcast Source..........." so the window will pop up. Hit Connect if you havn't.

To reach your new station you will need to give people the following link.

http://whateveryouchose.no-ip.com:8000/listen.pls
(this is assuming that you signed up as whateveryouchose.no-ip.com)

If 8000 doesn't work, 8001 should.

Hope I clear it up a bit, I know it was a pain for me.
