a question about how this all works.
Say i rent a shoutcast server from
b2netsolutions.com and i go to stream my music with the music still on my cpu from Sam2 or winamp.. What kind of a connection would I need to have an awesome stream with no skipping or buffering.. or does this not matter since the shoutcast server is hosted on a fast line from b2netsolutions? |

Firstly, your topic doesn't correspond with your questions at all. Secondly, why not just stream from your computer? Unless you are planning to take this seriously and perhaps make a little money, I would just run my own server (like I am now). It's cheaper.
Since you don't even know what a good upstream speed is to service X amount of people, I take it you haven't taken a seriously look at this yet. Regardless, go Google your question. Much faster... |

B. As he is discussing streaming for Shoutcast, let's keep him on the Shoutcast forums... Anyways, I stream at 32kbs/second MONO and it sound alright. The higher you get, the more dial-up users will be excluded. You could, always, set up two DNAS' for different stream rates. |
