That search function at the top of the page comes in real handy sometimes. You should try it:

Where did I ever insinuate that? Besides, if I actually cared about titles, I would have already asked for a CT ages ago.

He's just giving you some advice, no need to get hostile.Titles are irrelevant, judge by the content of the post, rather than the number of them.

Yeah! If people DO care about post-count, it would be useless topics around Winamp Forums.

Mature people judge by post content.
Sometimes I think that we would be better off without titles, except for people who have earned them by actively contributing to the forum/website (mods, beta team, reviewers), not just people who have friends in higher places. This would help people care more about what they posted, and not their postcount/status. Obviously, taking away the postcount did little to help people's mindsets. I think we should return MOTM (winner gets control over his title, bit can only change it once every couple weeks), but it would be done completly by the mods. Even in the mod-nominated, it still was a favorites contest. I remember when I won, I was up against people who were much more qualified, who have spent their entire forum career in tech support. While I helped in tech support, I was also active in GD, and because I was the only name people recognized, I won. In a nutshell: the average user needs more of a reason (whether it be positivly or negativly enforced) to make intelligent, worthwhile posts. |
