Public Servers and Descriptions

Hey everyone, I need a little help. I just started my server and radio station. I can connect to the server and appear to be online, however, when I search for my radion station either on winamp or shoutcast.com, nothing comes up. I checked the box to "make this server public" and also waited for 15 minutes, which is how long it says, but nothing comes up.

About, how long does it take from the time I am connected on shoutcast unitl I come up in the list of radio stations that are online?

It can take up to 30 minutes after the first "yp touched" message before your station appears from a SHOUTcast yp search.

Watch your logs/dnas and make sure the yp continues to 'touch' the server at regular intervals as well. If it's not communicating on a regular basis it can cause you to drop on and off the list.

My Station Does Not Come Up

Well, I tried waiting to see if it would come up, but it does not. When I look at my DNAS, it does not appear to be 'touching' either. Is something wrong with my server settings?

DNAS Log

Here is what my DNAS log says after being on for nearly 12 hours. Please note that I have changed my ip address to keep it private. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong and exactly how to fix it? I also noticed that there is not 'ban' or 'rip' file found, what's that mean?

You have your DNAS set to private. Go into the DSP > Output tab > Yellowpages and make sure the "Make this server public" box is checked.

Yea, that box has been checked the whole time. Is there something in the server config. that has to match up?

thanks for your continued help, James

Please check your DNAS config file for this:

code:
; PublicServer can be always, never, or default (the default, heh)
; Any setting other than default will override the public status
; of the source plug-in or of a SHOUTcast server that is being relayed.
PublicServer=default

Teh YP doesn't list private DNASs.
