How do you open port 8000. Ive ever tryed completely disabling my FW
Ive put everything on my firewall to off, ive closed it, ive done many things.
Is there a manual way to open port 8000? Or, does anyone know how to do it through zonealarm? |

Aloha mai e.
Check out your firewall documentation and/or firewall manufacturer website for port opening instructions. Alternatively, Check out the SHOUTcast Technical Support Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: Routers, Firewalls, and Networks. Oh My! |

ZA is the most newbie friendly FW i can recomend. Make sure ZA is in learning mode don't have it in high mode. This just gumms up the computers pipes too much.
Make sure you remove any reference to Shoutcast in ZA's active programs. Also set the options in ZA to notify you when a program req's a network connection. Reboot your pc----then fire up Shoutcast. ZA should ask you then for permission to allow Shoutcast to acess the net. Read the info in the Baloon it will tell you the exact application and the port it wants. Click "remeber my decision" then tick yes. All should be good-----if running Win XP or similar with windows own firewall. Turn the windows one off. ZA is great it really is more friendly when installing new programs. Others will leave you cursing for hours because you don't know port numbers. |
