audio hosting server?

i have terrible problems with buffering whenever i have more than a handfull of listeners and have been told by my provider (telewest) that what i need is a host to act as a server who can stream audio and video, at the moment i am just typing in my own ip address into shoutcast and i think this may be the root of my problems. can any kind soul out there recomend somewhere i could go to get a good server for my station.
