IAC hosts free AVS Seminar

The UK AVS+Uniras User Group (UAUUG) are holding a free one-day
technical briefing day on Friday 25 June 2004 at Manchester
Computing. The day will begin with a talk by Terry Hewitt, the
Director of the Manchester Visualisation Centre
(see http://www.man.ac.uk/MVC/), who will review some of the
differences between information visualization and scientific
visualization. Following this a number of methods for viewing
multidimensional data will be described including sonification.
Finally a few case studies will be presented to show the achievements
and outstanding problems of this new and exciting area.
The rest of the day will be dedicated to a hands-on session "How
to integrate IAC projects into your visualization network"
led by Mr Paul Lever, Manchester Visualisation Centre. This will be
especially valuable to anyone who needs to make use of the wide
range of AVS projects that are freely available at the
International AVS Centre (see http://www.iavsc.org/).

The day, including lunch, is free of charge. See
