Shoutcast plugin crashes Winamp?

Ok a friend set up a server a few days ago and i though i would try to DJ... however once i open the Shoutcast plugin it will not close... If i deselect it on the plugin list, nothing happens... it just sits there. When i then try to close winamp it locks up (and i can't end task it since there is some debugging task which will not allow me to do so)? I have the latest plugin version and tried it with both winamp5 and winamp 2.8...

Am i missing something? am i doing something wrong?

(sorry about the wrong forum... somehow overlocked the heading)

What soundcard are you using for the DSP machine?

onboard AC97... naturally the one everyone else has the problem with... If i had noticed that i was doing a search in the general discusion forum rather than the tech support problem i prolly wouldn't have bothered posting this at all... Apprently there is no working it out with the AC97...

debating moving all my mp3s to another machine with an SB live and streaming them from there... but that machine has lower specs (like 400mhz 384MB ram) not sure how that will work out...
