Microsoft Word is wierd/awesome?

SO i was typing in Word and accidently pressed some key combinations and this (see picture) came up with all these red boxes. Now everything i type is red and underlined and nothing i do can change that. I prefer to type in black. Any help?

Why, oh why do they make troubles for peoples who use both Works and Word? I got StarOffice for free from my university, and boy am I glad it mostly fixes the problem (though it's a bit slow and not very polished.)

Ugh, why does everyone have to stand actively against progress? I've had so many problems with school assignments because of .wks and .doc file extensions...
