Weighted Songs

One thing I would really like is the ability to make a song act like its more than one song. So if your using shuffle mode and a song has a weighted value of 5 it will be chosen more often. Basically a weighted value of 5 would be the equivalent of having the song on your playlist 5 times.

I absolutely agree with this. I have over 500 cd's that I've mp3'd and all of them are definitely NOT equal. But when I'm playing them random it's fair game and not uncommon to have to sit through an hour of "filler" tracks to get to some good ones. However, I'd prefer not remove them from my playlists if I could just remove their frequency of play. This could also be used for online radio stations.

have u tried the rating system? It works well for me. Good singles off of cds get a 5, the rest of the cd gets a 2 or 3.

i have made a plugin based on it.... but facing a little bit of problem.... its not working in XP but working in 98/95 etc...
basically some problem with NT based system.....
if u want the beta version u can send me a PM..... i will put it on the site as soon as i am able to figure out how to make it work in XP....

its rating system is based on 1-10 scale.... and probability of a song getting played depends on its rating.....

longplayer uses 1-10..

i actually dont like (most) ways of rating, with 1-5..it would be cooler for up to ten, because you could have 5 on a scale of good and 5 on a scale of bad (1-5 are levels of bad 6-10 are levels of good)

I suggest you just dump the bad music, it'll save you some disc space.

note: don't take this too serioucly

*sigh (still) under construction*

i know.. but not all the music is bad and i rip the entire album, so if i feel like it, i can listen to the entire thing... and some songs i dont want to play by themselves (they only sound good when with the entire album) so those would get a lower rating, so that way it would ignore them in shuffle...

i am not using winamp's rating.... saving it on my own... in the starting i made 1-5 but when i rated my songs i realized something between 4-5.... therefore i converted it to 1-10....
