Winamp 5 Single UI

Hey Guys,

I spent some time mocking up a version of the Winamp skin that's a single UI, i.e. no separate Windows.

Anyway, we'd love to have anyone in the community who has the time to actually build this skin.

Here's are some mocks of what the skin would look like.

that is pretty easy. just make seperate layouts and give them the ids which are needed. i think only a little bit xml and some bits maki maybe.

The library mode looks good but how about make the library window swapable with video/vis windows and put the equaliser in place of the video window.

I've wanted to do something like this for a while, but dont have the graphic skills to pull it off. Does this mean I have nullsoft permission to use modern skin graphics? do you just want it built into the modern skin?

completely and easily possible. just a matter of doing it. i got a running start using winamp modern as a base for gfx, but sven codes very different than me, so its taking some time to get how i want it, but its comming along nicely. as soon as i get permission, ill show something.

So that, plus steve's initial request asking that it be based off the modern skin says to me that you would be perfectly welcome to do this.

Why not simply put the ML and playlists in the Video/Vis area? It would only require a few new graphics (mainly modifying the playlist buttons to work with the video/vis bar, which I did some work on a while ago), the only tricky part would be the MAKI, as Sven hasn't released .m files (that I know of). I would do it in a heartbeat, and I could probably code the MAKI myself.

Oh and I have asked that in another thread but...

instead of creating an all in one windows skin wouldn't it be better to be able to lock all windows in a group to move them together? Yes I know about the Ctrl+Alt and drag but having an option of to move all winamp's windows like a single windows would be nice.

Suggestion, on the bottom part right side of the seeker , would be good to have a small lcd with vis, right above the wa logo

A small lcd with vis or time to display with a right click menu on it ,will make that last vew Jared posted more complete I think.

heres the current state of things....getting much more functional now.

this is with video playing (it just doesnt show)...the video part comes down when playing a video file, hides otherwise and its just the playlist (judging from my friends use, very intuitive)...the video button on the far right (not sure what it was meant for in the screen shot) changes the ml to video, so completely resizable and all of that. seems to work pretty well so far.

not yet sure how to integrate the avs, will work on that

Another suggestion, make the timer don't be 00:00 but 00:00:00 you know for what reasons.......
Btw if you want any other LCD font to put there let me know to send you.
A vis is missing on the right side of that slim LCD you have upon seeker and will be complete IMHO.

One thing I noticed - I'd move the songticker to the left one pixel so it is aligned with the matrix in the background.

Also, make sure as you're building it that you keep all the color theme id's the same so that the existing Winamp Modern color themes all work...

its comming. had to rewrite a lot of the code to adapt to users manually hiding components (like pressing alt+L), but almost there...ill send you a PM with a beta as soon as its ready

Err, because Steve asked if anyone would make a single UI version of the default skin?, that's the aim of the whole project, not to make full screen skin in your own desing, make a full screen version of the default winamp skin.
