it should say something in the Notes or the Review about it being everything, including all the previous builds.. because i'm sure someone will wonder why they're downloading a 4mb skin, when it really only needs to be about 500kb.

IPTS always was willing to accept help on this skin from anyone who could come up with some usefull work.
I think a few people actualy wrote some lines to ad but somehow the skin never got finished.
Now that he completely dropped the whole project, maybe it could be finished by someone else, if i could i would give it a try, but i don't have the skils to do so.
The skin as it is now looks nice, but it isn't very usefull.

I hope it because I love the idea that every UI is in ONE skin. I hope too this who develop will add the feature that the skin will keep the size after I restart winamp.

nobody is currently developing it as far as anyone knows. hopefully someone will take up the torch soon, this was an important project in my mind.. a single ui to be shipped with Winamp meant as a Modern Default alternative for the iTunes converts.

yeah he explained his reasons a page or so back and provided a link to all the WIP dev. materials (including all older versions and .psds, etc.). Wally has gone ahead and posted this bundle on the Skins page in its entirety (4MB) and it can be downloaded here so you don't need to waste iPTS' bandwidth.

I've had a bash at working on this skin.

i've added two buttons at the bottom, so that you can switch the large pane between vis, ml and video. Also added a button so that you can switch what the small pane shows.

it'll also show the video in the big pane when a video starts playing. if you had avs turned on before a video starts, it'll switch back to avs when the video finishes.

theres still a few issues, but i'm happy with it...
-in shade mode, the vis and library windows dont appear (but they appear to be 'open' somewhere, since cpu usage is high (therefore vis open
-alt+L (and the other keyboard shortcuts dont work properly) e.g. it closes the media library (which then opens the video window), pressing alt+L again doesnt always show the media library.. it appears in its own window for some reason
-sometimes the vis window will open its own window, instead of being in the SUI window. i think it might be a timing-related problem with the vis loading before/after the pane is actually made visible
-the ml/vis/vid buttons border is far too dark
-the tv/avslist button hasnt got a border
-expanding the mini pane always starts vis (unless vis is in the big pane)
-videos always play in the big screen (unless video is in the small pane)
-menubar is permanenty hidden

its better if you set the video options to not automatically show/hide the video on start/stop, since the skin does this anyway.

you probably need a fairly new winamp 5, cos of some modern skin fixes, but who knows

It's REALLY GREAT! But I'm missing the possibility to view other plugin windows like Winlyrics. There seems to be no way, even not as a seperate window :-(

man..one pretty damn good skin for winamp and then its discontinued.. I'm surprised not many people have taken to carrying on development on this skin.. most of the skins I've seen look rubbish in comparison to this.

people are just too lazy in general and messing with someone else's work is never the easiest to get going with so it's not a surprise that this one hasn't been touched and instead a few other SUI type skins have been produced. is just one of those things however disappointing/frustrating/etc it may be

Just an idea: the main body doesn't have to be so large, it's a waste of space, I'd put it in the length of the playing list, at the top of it, and the right half will be as it is, for the whole length.

will most likely be fully scalable to go fullscreen, therefore you can change the overall size and the individual window sizes within

you never know this might also get RGB treatment meaning colour themes could be created on the fly with a colour picker for the main colourisable items

SLoB, I'm not sure if you answered my comment, but I see no connection...
In the current case, scaling down the overal window for taking less space, will scale down also the library and the list, while the main section (the player) will still be very big.
In the idea I mentioned, it's probably in the size of a normal size of today unsingular GUI, of course, if you want it bigger or smaller, you can resize the playing list, but I see no reason someone wants to do that - If a user will resize this section, is only to give the play list bigger space...

my comment was that u have 4 available windows which house windowsholders so you can put in any main component and resize to users hearts content meaning the scaling of each component can be scaled independantly to a certain extent from the main overall window size, of course by scaling one component you automatically reduce/increase the size of the other remaining components
i dont see any point in scaling the main player section at the bottom other than width and or shifting it up/down depending on cfg drawer opened/closed
the idea of scaling the main section is to fit in more goodies/info, doesnt make much sense to chop it off if its going full screen (would spoil the overall feel/aesthetics of that window) , but the main thing will be resizable

as i said dont forget your not just dealing with a bigger playlist, the windowholders will/can also contain the ml as the main part which then you may want to stretch things out a bit and nothing should look out of place

Maybe you can do a dragable mode for components, so everyone can arrange them into the big unit as they want

Though, martin, when thinking about it, Media Player uses the whole width for the timeline as well, so it reacts like vortex .

so the question is why/would/should the SUI be modular based or built around the main player module

In fact I don't want it modular, I just want more space to the video / media library (by making the main module's width, like the play list's - which means they share the same raw.

Skins like Vortex fullscreen mode and DynamicUI is highly bendable but I want somethin that is easy to use...

It was hard to see through those small pictures, but, sure, not a problem. Having 2 screens, Winamp sits on the smaller one (17"), and I have no reason to drag it (Unless I'm intensively working on the media library, then I drag it to the 24" screen, to have more space for it).

I came back to this thread after a LONG hiatus, and what do I find, but the project has been abandoned by its creator. I'm an iTunes convert, but my new MP3 player didn't play well with iTunes, so I switched to Winamp, and not being able to quickly resize all windows at once has bugged me ever since the switch. I was reading through the posts and when I saw that iPlayTheSpoons had converted to WMP, I nearly cried. After the man put two years of his time and effort into this skin (and I've looked at the code, I don't know Maki but the stuff looks DAMN intimidating, and well written) only to abandon it for something that, while a huge improvement over the previous versions, is still nowhere near as efficient or as customizable as Winamp, or even (in my opinion) the BETA of his own skin. Sorry for the run-on sentence. But there is hope! I was pleased to discover that a few posts (and about 5 months) later, Kebabrov took the initiative and put out his own improved version of the skin, and managed to fix the window-resize-on-video-open bug, which is what kept me from using the skin in the first place. I downloaded it and am messing with it as we speak. From what I can tell, I think I've finally found my solution to the iTunes/Winamp problem!

However, there are still a few bugs that need working out:

I was able to break the skin (playlist covered minimize/max/close buttons) but only after extensive experimentation and judicious resizing in ways that probably weren't designed to happen. This is not a major issue to me, because I was able to completely undo what I did without deleting studio.xnf, and I have yet to duplicate the problem.

The overall look and feel of the whole skin is that of a beta, just a general polishing up of the graphics, repositioning some of the buttons, less flicker, stuff like that, although none of that really matters to me (function over form is my preference). The main issue here is that the buttons that Kebabrov added have very different edges than the ones that iPlayTheSpoons made, so it looks like a bit of a mash (no offense intended Kebabrov, it's still great work).

My question: Would it be possible for Kebabrov to get together with krckoorascic (who helped iPlayTheSpoons with the original skin) and tighten things up a bit. All that would be necessary is a few graphical corrections for alternate color themes and a look into the resizing script for the ML/PL border (it does some weird stuff sometimes, possibly because it behaves kinda like it's based off the absolute position of the bar on-screen, rather than on a location relative to the window.)

P.S. MAJOR kudos to Kebabrov for the ML/VIS/VID 2 button combo, the way that works is absolutely genius, all the functionality of 3 buttons, in 2, with no possibility of erroring out the skin by closing all 3.
