Winamp 5 WINE compatibility

I've heard that Winamp5 is not compatible with WINE. Can anyone confirm this? If so, does 2.9x run? (I just don't want to be without my precious media library, and xxms is somewhat lacking)

Since Winamp 2 uses the same codebase as Winamp 5, there will be no difference in Wine compatibility.

Winamp 5 minus some plugins = Winamp 2 with some bugfixes.

from speaking to people, classic skins will run fine though there may be a border around them (related to how winamp makes the window).

however modern skins don't work afaik. and as amano pointed out Winamp 5 is Winamp 2.x with bug fixes and some extra plugins added to it. just run it with classic skins and all should work fine (hopefully)
