Problems listening at school

Im trying to listen to my stream sta school, but when I try to use Winamp, and connect to http://216.177.7.221:8005/listen.pls all i get is "connecting to host" and then "error connecting to host"

When I try to use WMP I get "Unable to establish a connection to the server"

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get around this?

think that the admin from the schoolnetwork has blocked certain parts of the net - and most schoolnetworks use firewalls.

you should ask the question to the admin.
my son asked it at his school so he could start listening to my broadcast . his schoolnetwork also blocked certain parts of the internet .

Yea, I used to have the same problem. They dissallow to connect to the server. That is why I have a javaplayer. Now I don't haqve the problem anymore.

Your option would probably be to find a proxy (there are several sites which list public ones). The proxy will likely have to be on the few open ports even school networks can't touch like port 80.

I'm looking at proxy lists, and a lot of them have ports listed, any idea what port I need to listen?

I don't "play" on the computer all day. I work my ass off, and then get on the computer. I finished most of the school year's school work back in December, so I have spare time. Don't come on this thread and drag it offtopic, as we all know where our arguements lead threads.

yeah, i'm back.
