Disney Stops Miramax From Releasing Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911"
"The Walt Disney Company will not allow its specialty division, Miramax Films, to distribute Michael Moore's anticipated new documentary "Fahrenheit 911," the director said early today. Moore announced the news to his large Internet audience with a letter entitled, "Disney Has Blocked the Distribution of My New Film." The movie, which was financed by Miramax, is set to have its world premiere later this month at the Cannes Film Festival."

That's nearly 2 weeks old and impressive that Disney may be caving into Moore due to all the media scrutiny they've received over the whole thing.

I believe this just further cements the idea that Disney does indeed, lick salty balls.
Censorship is retarded. OH NO, IT HAS 911 IN IT, IT MIGHT TRAUMATISE A WHOLE .00000000002% OF THE PUBLIC! BAN IT! BAN IT! just as feathery as ever |

Last I heard the producers bought the rights back and are marketing it to other distributors. It's gonna come out, you can bet on it during an election year if the Democrats have to market it themselves.
I also believe it won an award at Cannes. 1001. FM - Megarock Radio - St. Louis Since 1998! Tune In Now! Corporate Radio Sucks! No suits, all rock! |

well, censorship is bad, true. But Michael Moore is an evil, tubby, moneygrubbing niche-pimp. So it sort of works out.
By the way, does anyone know why the movie is called farenheit: 911? like what on earth does it have to do with the book? |

the book is about breaking down peoples' freedoms by removing the printed word - the film is (i assume) about removing freedoms under the thin veil of "the war on terror".
