If you've got that much money why not get a Protools system? Okay, Logic is cheaper and you don't need the extra hardware, but after using both and talking to a lot of people, I can say that Protools is significantly easier to use and also more of a professional standard.
Although for MIDI you'd have to get, say, Reason as well, because Protools doesn't have MIDI sequencing. Reason now works directly with the latest Protools as if it was one program though. Logic, on the other hand, does have MIDI stuff, so maybe it wouldn't be such a bad choice.[/edit]
