Encoder Question
(I am new to Shoutcast so please keep this in mind)
My set up: Sony Vaio & Windows XP into a Linksys Router into a cable connection. I just tested my UL speed and it's 189k. I set up the self broadcast server using my CPU and followed the tut's on forwarding throught the router and I am broadcasting through to Shoutcast with no problem. Thing is, in the DSP I set my encoder to 112k, but on the shoutcast page it's only listed as 40k. I logged on to my stream and it's infact my Minamp player shows that it's only playing at 40k. What could be the possible problem? Also, if I buy streaming from a company will this be an issue? Thanks in advance to anyone who replys. |

1st of all, withyour upload speed, it would only be possible to hold one listener at that speed.
Try setting to 56kbps, and see if it still shows 40k. yeah, i'm back. |

Are you sure you are affecting the right encoder? You have 5 to choose from, maybe one you are not using is selected and you have been changing it.
