Line in Autostarting
Hi Shoucasting guru's,
Does anyone here know what needs to be done to make Winamp start playing a playlist automatically? I'm using Winamp 2.91 with the DSP SAM Encoder plugin. This seems to give me much better results than all others. I'm also using the Sound Solution plugin for multi band compression. Audio comes into Winamp via the Line IN plugin. I can get all this to fire up and load by putting the shortcuts in the start up menu. Thus everything loads itself from boot up. Problem is----this all happens nicely but you still need to push play on Winamp to start it taking the Line IN feed. Very annoying if you set the machine to reboot on system failures. Power outages (not all of us have UPS)etc. Any ideas people??? Regards to you all |

Install this, and proceed to General Plugins. Select 'Time Restore and Autoplay' and then 'Automatically start Winamp playing on startup.' Hit OK. Have fun, and hope this helps! EDIT: Also update to Winamp 5.03a with update pack here: http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/...mp503_full.exe + http://www.nunzioweb.com/daz/waupdate/wa5update.exe k thx |

Thanks for that.
Is there any reason to really upgrade to Winamp 5 other than having the latest? Does this plugin work only with version 5? I find this works best as I need to use the computer to do everything from Compressing to Encoding and handing the net connection. So it's working hard. Also the SAM dsp encoder doesn't like Winamp 5. I've also found Winamp5 likes to use a bit more resourses for the flashy skins----to me this is not needed as the computer is a work horse not a show pony. Off board compression or a dedicated rack unit costing loads of cash is just not justifiable as a net caster. But maybe down the track

If it works with WA 2.x, it should work with WA 5.x, same core
![]() EDIT: And it'll use the same resources if you stick to the "classics"
