Media Library to store Volume

It would be nice if the media library would store the volume of a song (RMS or Maximum) so that a plug-in (or WinAmp itself) could use this data to normalize all songs in the library...

Why not just normalize all the music at once?

It seems to me an easy way to store the volume in the database once the file has been played and there is no need to edit the file. I have tried some Normalizer tools but they constantly failed to produce good results. Anyway, to normalize my mp3 collection of about 6000 songs would take enormous time and waste much time in songs that rarely get heard.

tried MP3Gain?
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

just import your files and normalize them
with MP3Gain you won't loose any quality
look at their site for more information
