I really need help with my music!
Ok my collection of music on my computer has gotten out of control. It's takes me a good amount of time to find what I want to listen to. Now I was just wondering what you guys on these forums use to tag your music. I used to use MusicMatch Jukebox(Yes it is a garbabe player, but the best for tagging since it would look up the name of the song and tag automatically without you having to do any work), but now you have to pay for it. Are there any free ID3 taggers out there, or are there any programs that do this for you automatically?
Thanks!

I know this sounds crappy, but, wait for a couple of hours for the audiophiles on the US east coast and in Europe to make their way here. I'm pretty sure they'll direct you to the right places

Mediamonkey, it's keeping track of 8250 tunes. I've heard stories of 30,000 tune collections being tamed.

I just tag music as I rip/get it then keep it organised in folders but I've heard that media monkey is good. I use a custom program for recording my album list and producing web pages for showing the info but this isn't very good as I've never got round to finishing it off.

Good free taggers are ID3TagIT and Tagger.
Both are free and very powerful. However, note that the latest ID3 Tagit require the .NET framework, grab the old 2.xx version available on the site, it's lighter and faster and no .NET framework is required. Tagger is a front-end to TAG, an excellent command-line tool that can tag/rename anything and its mother (not only mp3s, but also ogg, flac and others). To manage my mp3s, I just use Winamp's Media Library
