trouble looking up some albums...
How does the media library look up albums? I'mn sure it's based off of the album field in the ID3 tag? Which version, 1.1, 2.0 or both? What if you only have the artist and track, can it still find the album?
Anyways, the media library is able to look up 99% of my albums, until it comes to Aerosmith - Just push Play. There it gives me the following error: "XML error: not well formed (invalid token) at line 40" I hand labeled all my ID3 tags, with both 1.1 and 2.0, and all the other ones I've tried work fine. Any ideas what wrong with this tag? TIA, L J |

I used MP3 tag tools to make all my tags, the others work fine.
I don't have a third party MP3 input plug-in. I tried with the classic skin, and got the same error. Here is a screen shot to better explain the error: ![]() L J |

Not 100% sure of this, it may be corrupted library data. While Winamp is not running try deleting the main.dat file in the media library folder (usually C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\ml). Alternately you could also try - Ctrl+P > General Preferences > Media Library > Misc. tab > press the Nuke Library button. Make sure the ML window is not displayed when using the "Nuke" method. If that does not work try deleting the contents of the media library folder.
Unfortunately deleting or "Nuking" any of the files will result in the lost of media library data. So you might want to temporarily move the files to another folder for archival purposes. If there are any media library playlists back them up by copying or moving them to another folder. Media Library playlists have a randomly generated filename. Example: plf****.m3u (where **** represents a set of numbers and letters). |

Oh, it's probably just pooing over the apostrophe in the name. Do you have other songs with apostrophes? Do they work?
It's just the look up thing. |

In the bottom of the that image- "Bon Jovi - It's my Life" and many others. It also does this on "Aerosmith - Jaded", only those two... I nuked the ML and it's still doing the same thing...

I think it has to do with the lookup database of winamp. Not sure WHEN it happens though.
For me, 'Aerosmith - Don't Want to Miss a Thing' worked fine (i did not have an album tag though), but i got exactly the same error when looking up 'Aerosmith - Love in an Elevator'. The same happened at the tab 'Now playing' (while playing that song). I don't think there is anything you can do about it... [edit] ok, now 'love in an elevator' works fine again, but 'don't want to miss a thing' gives the error

Strange whatever the problem is. I did a test by putting apostrophes in tags of a MP3 and could not reproduce the error.
