Second soundcard cue option

Hi guys,

Just wondering if there is a plugin for making Winamp's buttons in the "playlist editor" windo able to play to a second SC? This would be handy as I use Winamp with the Squaresoft Xfader for playing music at mobile discos. The option to have a quick listen would be very nice. Even if it did it from the media library window would be great.

I'm using 2.91 btw as the computer I've got isn't too fast. The slightly older version works better. The newer Winamps stutter abit because of the more attention given to graphics etc. I did't think the graphics was a big issue when you wanted it to play music relaibly.

Regards,

Peter

Winamp 5 is a newer version of Winamp 2, plus plug-ins for, among others, modern skins. If you use a classic skin it will be just as fast as Winamp 2.91.

I don't have a second sound card to try this but maybe you can open a second instance (check "allow multiple instances" in General Preferences), set it up to use the other soundcard (prefs/plugins/output) and use that to preview tracks.

Did that with the skins. I turned the old classic look back on. More because of the familiar look. When finding things fast in the heat of the minute you treasure the familiar feel of it.

Sorry forgot to explain I did that (two instances) set to a second card. Yep! Works but the same computer gets a bit confused sometimes and locks up.

The pc is only a 466 mhz cpu with 256 ram running Windows 2000. Now this was done with Win 98 SE. I wonder if Win 2000 handles the whole setup better? I must confess it does with most other programs running on that machine.

Should I give the new Winamp a go on 2000?

Must confess though all comments a side a way to preview within winamp would be nice.
