xzxzzx's tip for the day: declaring you're gay when checked into LA jails will get you seperated from the rest of the non-gay prison population.

I'm serious. Not that I would know.

You never know. You could, oh, look wrong at a policeman, and BAM, you're in the well-oiled machine of the LA county detainment system.

Come to see the beautiful Switzerland!

I admit, the flights may be a little expensive but with this country being relatively small, you will be able to see a whole variety of different cultures in one trip!

You have the Alpes surrounding the areas you go to making it a whole new landscape experience for you, visit marvelous lakes (the biggest one is Europe is located in Switzerland as well) and cities with houses dating back to the 15th century with all the comfort of a highly developed country (I don't have to mention Swiss Banks to you, right?) The living standard is very high, just about everyone speaks English - and is glad to use it as well - and you can choose between the French Speaking Geneva region that also has the second UNO headquarter plus numerous other organization which are interesting to visit if you like politics (the red cross was founded in Switzerland as well by the way), the Southers Italian speaking reason with palm trees - and you don't even need to see Italy! (although it's only a stonethrow away). There's also the big German speaking area with the biggest cities (Zurich and Bern) where there is much to explore.

Switzerland is in the middle of Europe so it's easy to visit all the other countries around as well!

And if all of this hasn't convinced you yet: You will also be able to meet the person belonging to THIS

What do you say?

Mia

Switzerland sounds good!
A flight in March to Zurich is only about $650.

So many places...

Sounds good, I'll have my Spring semester break by then. If you give me a few months notice in advance I could arrange something for you and even travel a little with you, I can travel by train, bus, boat etc. for free in Switzerland (well I have a one year ticket and it doesn't matter how much I use it).

I know my way around Zurich and Geneva but don't expect me to holp up a little umbrella or a flag so you can follow me while I resume the history of every piece of crap on the street

Right. I understand if you don't want to post your address, but what general area are you in?
I live just north of Gulfport, Mississippi. Gulfport and Biloxi are actually two separate cities, but their border runs down the middle of DeBuys Rd, so it's basically like one big city. We've also got the longest man-made beach in the world here. 26+ miles of sandy beach. Only thing is... the water isn't that great because of the Barrier Islands (a group of islands about 15 miles from the coastline that form the outer boundary of the Mississippi Sound). The Barrier Islands hold in a lot of storm washoff from floating out to sea, so the water is quite murky. But if you come down here, you'll definitely have to book a Ship Island excursion tour. Ship Island is one of the Barrier Islands, and it's also home to Fort Massachusetts. Plus, the water is crystal clear and quite beautiful at Ship Island.

Also, the buffets at the Grand ****** and the Beau Rivage Resort are both to DIE for.
