My IT homework website is crap...

and I want your help. For one of my assignments to pass this course I have to develop a website for a fictional record company where you can find information on the artists, listen to their songs, and buy some merchandise. I've been working on it this week, and due to my shoddy HTML knowledge, it's a pile of s---. So I'd like your help. Any suggestions or criticisms are welcome, apart from 'It's crap' as I already know that.

Couple of pointers:

1. When the site is assessed, it will probably be offline.
2. I know thw WAV files should be MP3's, but I need help with <embed> and MIME types.
3. I'm using my favourite text editor, not Dreamweaever or Frontpage.
4. I don;'t know how to create stylesheets, but I can import them.
5. I've got PHP4 at home, but I've got no idea how to use it.
6. And finally, yes all graphics were made in 5 minutes in Paint

1: (not adressing your list)clean up the navigation. Make the "buttons" more interesting/obvious. Even changing the font type/making the font a bit bigger could make a significant difference.
2: I would suggest, instead of the layout you have now, to have your layout with a "banner" (interesting title that is perhaps framed, but that reads flat left to right.).

I would suggest doing something like this:

Btw: This is in no means exactly how you should have your site look. It's just a simple, rough Idea that you could possibly later build upon.

Embedding sound == evil.
Don't do it. Furthermore:

Frames == evil.
Don't do that either.

Also, and I don't know if you're doing this, but:
Tables as a layout == evil.
That's also a thing to not do.


So, yeah. CSS really isn't that hard, you know.
