im runnin my own server on my computer and whenever i connect to it it works out fine until about 20 secs later when i get this in the moniter:
<08/02/04@02:37:06> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<08/02/04@02:37:06> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 68.239.109.123:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))

this is probably caused by my linksys dsl router but i dont no how to fix it, ive been readin the fourms and lookin at the FAQs but i have to no clue what they r talkin about

Well if your firewall is up in your router then you'll have to forward port 8000 and 8001 to your local machine IP (type ipconfig -all in a dos window to see your local IP) on the network. On my linksys router you get to the config by typing 192.168.1.1 in a browser. Go into Advanced or whatever and port forwarding and forward ports 8000-8001 to your local IP and then try it again.

Here is the link of a port scanner so you can like, check from a webpage to see if your ports are open to the net or not.

https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Just go there, click proceed and then type in a port range in the white field (7995-8005 for example) and hit the USER SPECIFIED CUSTOM PORT PROBE button then scroll down to the port list and look. If it says STEALTH then the ports are hidden if it says CLOSED or OPEN then you are good to go.

Good luck.

Peace,

Locker

Nope! There's nearly always a way to get things working. What kind of router do you have?

Link using this format: http://yourIP:yourPORT/listen.pls

Replace "yourIP" with your IP (which you can find from the hosting machine here) and "yourPORT" with your portbase as defined by your DNAS (server) config file. The default is 8000.

Please post a link for testing.
