I have no authority here, even though I act like it sometimes. If I was mad at you, big whoops, there'd be nothing I can do, also there's nothing you could do if you were mad at me
![]() I'm a noob as well, I just pick stuff up faster than a lot of people. yeah, i'm back. |

The issue here is he can't connect to his own WAN IP address from inside his own network, unless his router/modem supports local loopback. winDJ, post your link with your IP and we can test it for you. or go to here and test ports 8000 & 8001 to see if they are open, if they are then people can connect.

Firewall / Proxy HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!
I tried DJ Cassio's link and this is what i got....
81.174.245.234:8000 is Closed Reason Given: Connection timed out More about this error: This means that you are most likely behind a firewall, this error esentially says that you and your computer aren't there. You might also check to be sure that your ip is 81.174.245.234, if it is not then you are behind some sort of proxy. I have shut down my firewall and tried http://81.174.245.234:8000/listen.pls (and without /listen) STILL NO LUCK!!!! ![]() Is there another firewall (like a Windows XP one???) Or if im behind a proxy, how do i get rid of it??? plz help me! |

windows xp has a firewall inside the software - you can find it in the connection part on you system.

You did not say if you had forwarded ports 8000 & 8001 to the LAN IP address of the PC with shoutcast.

No, the .pls is generated by the shoutcast server and is downloaded to the connection automatically, you don't have to do anything to make that happen.
What type of router do you have and do you have a software firewall, zone alarm maybe? |

I have Zone Alarm Firewall (that ive shutdown) and a speedtouch 540 modem/router.
![]() i guess your running out of ideas fast could anything ive done incorectly during setup/config have made this problem? PS - the modem and router are in the same box (not separate) |

Your symptoms point to either the firewall is still in service, or you did not forward your ports correctly. Can you post a screen shot of your forwarding section of your router page?
