The solution is to not use a giant playlist and use the ML.

I see people ask for something like this over and over, and I dont see any point to it when the ML is right there.

Why shouldn't we use giant playlists? I want to be able to browse my entire playlist of songs. Granted, all of my 4,000+ files are tagged, so I don't have this same problem, but I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to have large playlists.

Just to throw something into this. People tend to either be of the playlist type or the ml type. Personally i use one large playlist and i always have done since 1999. I occassionally use the ml now ie for storing fixed playlists quickly (though i much prefered the Winamp3 style playlist but that's another thread... ).

The thing comes down to what is easiest for the individual. Winamp is designed to cope with the majority and so it's really upto 3rd party developers to provide workarounds/implementations to fulfill small niche areas of usability, etc.

anyway, that's me done, back to the topic...
