auto-moving EQualizer

The feature I always wanted is this:

you select some EQ presets, or all EQ presets, then you let winamp cycle /switch from one to another EQ preset, cyclcally or randomly. The switching interval is configurable fixed, or random between configurable MIN to configurable MAX.

Fixed EQ setting is boring... but the moving EQ, I believe, creates dynamic effect of moving through the chain of rooms with different acoustics. I think this is cool.

hehe, you made a funny poll

never going to be a native feature of Winamp, I think: who wants the sound of music to change all the time?!
maybe there's some weird DSP plugin out there that does it, or one could be made...
never heard of one, though

Good Winamp plugins by Joonas, DrO and shaneh.
If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

well to be on a more logistic side...

winamp alreayd lets you have a preset for each song... but thats very annoying to use..... sorry nullsoft ... cause each song has to be individually programed with a preset/setting...lots of work...i'm lazy...

HOWEVER!!!!!

if the eq can changed based on the song's genre... that would be alot better!!!! cause if u have a good techno/trance/dance/hip-hop/etc... (a song with alot of bass)... so then the eq changes to make use of that bass

it also gives you a better reason to use the genre feild in the ID3 tag...cause now i dun really use that feild

Well, it would be nice if it would change by album/artist. But I would probably never use it. Also, I see no reason to change by genre; how many people out there constantly listen to different types of music?

I'll admit, I once was a bit into certain rap, and even then the High Bass and Treble setting was fine. Maybe not for someone who likes to drown out their music with bass, but for me it was okay. Now, I don't listen to any rap. Can't stand it. But I still use what I've been for years - Full Bass/Treble - and have no problems with it.

It goes good with virtually anything I listen to - and I listen to various rock and metal, including some extremes like death metal and even stuff like Evanescense (and lighter).

So... I don't see why this would be any good.
