what's a good popup blocker?

i've been using google toolbar for a while now, and i must say that the built-in popup blocker is getting weak, popups are popping up more than ever b4. my comp is spyware free, but they come up anyway. Im not looking for any new browsers with built-in popup stoppers or anything, just a standalone popup blocker of some kind. anyone know any thats good?

Mozilla and Firefox both have very good popup blockers, along with being very good browsers.

Proxomitron. Download JD5000's filter set and you are good. It blocks ads and other nasty stuff too.

Firefox is the way to go. you can get adblock in addition to the popoup blocker and see almost no ads at all. I don't see the ads at the top of the forum pages anymore with it.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

As others have said, screw the popup blocker and just download Firefox and get the Adbock extension. Firefox is just so much better.

Google toolbar, if you don't want to change to Mozilla. Works for searching too.

IE comes with a built-in popup blocker since Service Pack 2 anyway. I haven't tried it though, since I use Firefox.

no thanks. btw proxomitron is completely customizable. so you filter what you want. There are some pretty decent filter packs out there for it.

or if you wanted you could get an IE shell like MyIE2. it's still ie, but with things like popup blockers, tabbed browsing, and mouse gestures on top of some other customizable features. But i'd still go with Firefox.

No sig here folks.

Stop-the-pop. It blocks things from the name of the window that's trying to pop up. You can use it for any program, and if you want to let something through, you just press shift while you click the link. I used to use it for IE, but I use firefox now.
