Google drip-feeds us the invites that we're allowed to give out to control the number of people in the Gmail beta. A couple of months ago they stopped giving invites out, obviously their beta program had enough members for the time being.
A few days ago, that all changed and just about every member was given 6 invites, or even more. This explains why every forum on the internet has threads similar to this one. We can't even give the damn things away. hm... ah, yeah, well, gmail accounts given away! Interesting, but I already have one . BTW, how long does it take before I get accounts to give away myself? I opened my account this week, a friend (from real life, actually) invited me. I suddendly noticed that now that everybody around me knows I have gmail eventually with accounts to give away, I don´t have any trouble borrowing games and DVD:s anymore. Everybody´s soooo nice....  I hope gmail will be beta for three years like news.google.com (it´s still beta, isn't it?). That would mean a small revolution to my social life. |
