WWWinamp questions
I have set this up sucessfully, but it seems not all functionality is working for me(I probably havent set it up right..so here I am
). So here are a few questions..1. There are two sides I see on the browser. On the left side I see my MP3s and the right has an option for search. I see the MP3s from the playlist that is currently broadcasting on random. But, I only see about 1/4 of the whole playlist. Is this normal? It would be cool to see the whole playlist and manipulate it remotely. Is it a time thing and do I need to wait ten minutes or so for the program to read all thats in my playlist? 2. On the right side as stated above is a search button, but when I perform a search for anything listed in the left column the search finds nothing. It says under show all(which shows nothing), "Searching 0 items for "X" and then states, "No items found." Shouldnt this work? I searched gooogle for WWWinamp and was able to view another broadcasters WWWinamp webserver and was able to do a search. Im thinking I need to configure my .ini file? 3. Also, when I hit stop remotely it stops the broadcast and the clients streaming the broadcast. But, when I go to hit play the broadcast begins but the clients do not automatically start. I have to go up to each PC and push play. Isnt there a way to configure the clients to auto start when my broadcast begins? Thanks for all and any help you can extend! Cheers, Paul! |

sounds to me like you need to check the wwwconfig. You should have the DBPath set to the directory all your mp3 files live in. When you start the server, you should see something like this
code: Once that's working, and you open wwwinamp, you'll see show all in the right hand pane. Click that, and it'll show you all the mp3s in the C:\pathtoyourmp3s directory and you'll be able to search them fine. |

Ok, i guess i continue this thread for I am trying to once again set up WWWinamp and I have as the poster stated to change the path, but after it scans all my MP3s it then gives me a socket error failed?
I am running my station on one client while the music is stored on a local server. I thought it maybe a firewall issue on the client, but I gave wwwinamp permission... Anyone have any thoughts? cheers, paul |

Ok, I am going to answer my own question just in case in the future, I forget how I fixed my problem
To get Wwwinamp plug in to work properly...make sure in the .ini file under DBpath=<place the location of mp3s here>..i.e. C:\mp3 or a network drive \\Mediaserver\mp3; If you have done such and keep getting Fatal Error socket error problem, change the port as another application is using the default port 80.
