Disconnecting Problem
I recently started broadcasting through shoutcast DSP. IT connects fine and streams fine but disconnects ever 2 or 3 minutes. I reconnect and it will do the same. I dont know if this is a problem with my firewall or what but any help would be awesome. thx.

did you set the encoder at winamp (recommended) ??
when you stream other sounds you need to place it on soundcard. Darkwave radio 24/7 -- ----------------------------------- Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music. www.irnb.nl worldwide station on the net for all people |

www.dslreport.com to see what your uploadspeed is.
if this is anywhere near 128k than you are trying to stream a 128k signal to a remote server while your uploadspeed isn't good enough. i can see your shoutcast page btw. just used the listen link without the /listen.pls that is reason why i could see you are streaming at 128k Darkwave radio 24/7 -- ----------------------------------- Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music. www.irnb.nl worldwide station on the net for all people |

sorry but it has everything to do with your stream
you upload a signal to that server at 128kbps right! if your uploadspeed isn't good enough you get disconnected because you can't stream more than your uploadspeed is. let's say your uploadspeed is 128kbps and you want to stream to this server with 128kbps , it won't work. the isp always provide less uploadspeed than they claim they do, and you always need some uploadspeed for overhead (updating title/song info and stationname etc) in the link to the page you have to see to the top and see where it says dsl test. click that Darkwave radio 24/7 -- ----------------------------------- Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music. www.irnb.nl worldwide station on the net for all people |

it's all about your uploadspeed , downloadspeed has nothing to do with this.
if you find out what your uploadspeed is ,you can set your bitrate on any bitrate you like but it has to be lower than the actual uploadspeed. in my case i have (according to my isp) 384 kbps uploadspeed , the tests show that if i'm lucky i get about 350kbps. if i wanted to stream at 80kbps i could serve 4 listeners max 4*80=320 you should check out your uploadspeed and see what it says. Click on this link to access your DNAS status page. http://64.71.133.115:8020/
Click on "Admin Login" at the upper right corner. (User name is "admin", all lower case, and the password is probably the same as the one you use to connect to it to broadcast) Then click on "view logfile" at the top. Copy and paste part of it in a post. If it's ten miles long, we don't need the whole thing... just an excerpt from it. (like any parts that look like errors) Also, you NEED to find out your UPLOAD speed. Go here http://www.dslreports.com . (The link earlier didn't work for you because they forgot the "s" at the end.) Go to Tests+Tools and then Speed Tests. When running the test, make sure you aren't doing anything else. |

You will need to get access to the log files from whoever is running it then although if you have access to stream to it you should normally have access to the admin interface as well.

if you log into the admin interface you can view your log. username=admin password=is what you have in your DSP.

There are issues with your server provider. This traceroute shows serious congestion on their network:

Because when there is a congestion, the time to receive your packets is longer and the buffer can be not filled enough to enable the songs to be played or simply you can't connect to your DNAS control panel...
